The owner, Ann-Marie, seems to be everywhere, keeping an eye on every little detail, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The hotel has charming touches throughout, from the fresh fruit and nuts in the welcome basket to the handwritten welcome note. Rooms are elegant and modern, with comfortable beds and duvet covers. Dinner is fabulous, but you need a reservation and it sells out early. The breakfast buffet is typical Bernina fare with lots of extra touches. It may be rated three stars, but it feels like a gem. Pro tip: a wonderful Municipal Pool and Spa is just down the street, with a lap pool, heated outdoor pool, saunas, and plunge pools.

This place offers good value for money in expensive Engadin. Right in the city center, it has nice restauration, some great rooms, and plenty of pleasant public spaces for chatting or business talks. We especially liked the building’s non-squared shape as it winds around itself.

This is a nice old hotel, and its age shows in the bathroom fixtures. They’re old but working, and everything was very clean, including the rooms. Our room had been updated with a flat-screen TV, lots of outlets for charging a phone or plugging in a laptop at the desk, and a balcony with a small table and two chairs. Even during corina time, breakfast had more than we could want. There were no hot dishes, but there were cooked eggs, fruit, cereals, homemade jellies, and local hunny. Because of corona, you ordered the bread in advance. Coffee was self-service, which was nice since you could go back for more.
