Albergo Croce Bianca

We booked a room at the last minute when my wife and kids came down with food poisoning, and Croce Bianca became such an oasis for my family and me. Even with everything going on, the experience was first class. The staff were incredible and went well out of their way to look after us. They made a simple but delicious meal for my wife and kids while they were ill, which brought them back to life, and kept asking if there was anything more they could do. They made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for. The spa was fantastic too. We got an hour to unwind in the steam room and sauna and came away feeling refreshed. Thank you, thank you. We’ll 100% return if we’re in the area.

The pool photo is misleading: there is no pool, even though the third picture with the hotel name says “2 months ago.” The owner will tell you there’s no pool if you call, but they still take bookings from people misled by the picture and then claim they didn’t know the information was false. They are building a pool now, and the construction site is right beside the room, messy and noisy. I first thought they were super friendly, but came to see them as big hustlers.

On a grey, snowy New Year’s Day, we arrived by train from St. Moritz on a sightseeing trip. Because of the CoVid pandemic, the place was open only to hotel guests. We asked for coffee and a meal, and the friendly cook personally took our order, then brought us a delicious takeaway meal within 15 minutes, adjusted to suit our different tastes. The staff’s outstanding friendliness and willingness to go the extra mile really stood out. It gave us a great feeling about staying in this wonderful southern alpine town. If we come back, we know where we’ll stay.

The staff were friendly, and we had access to local transport, bikes, and a swimming pool. Very good service, and well deserving of Switzerland’s best 3-star hotel. We were very happy with our stay.
