The only real drawback was the pricing, though that seems common throughout Switzerland. Otherwise, it was quiet despite being practically beside the train station, and the staff were super friendly. The place is picturesque, with lovely views over the lake. Breakfast had enough variety, and the room had the rustic, stylish feel it was meant to, right down to a slightly creaky bed.

We’ve returned after visits 35 years ago and 15 years ago, and were here again in 2025. The staff were fantastic, and the risotto they made for us was memorable. We’ll come back when we can.

The train passes just a few meters away now and then, with a loud screech from its iron wheels. Apart from that, the garden has pretty good lake views and is a nice place to eat in warm weather. It’s a cozy country cottage-style house with very good food, carefully prepared, and efficient service. It’s costly, but you get what you pay for.

A tiny restaurant right by a Bernia Express station, with great food and really kind staff. Definitely try the Cupeta dessert!
