Hotel Toscana

We had a good four-night stay in a room with four single beds. There was enough space for us to open our big suitcases, and I was glad the toilet had a bidet, which we think is pretty rare in Switzerland. The location was handy for public transport, with the train and bus stations nearby at Interlaken West. We even saw people riding horses one morning. Thanks to Mr Muhammad and Kelvin for the great service.

The room was uncomfortably damp during our two-night stay. Condensation appeared on metal things, including the door handles, windows, and even my water bottle. It was also very hot, and the thermostat, or whatever we thought it was, didn’t work. We had to open the windows each morning to clear the heat and condensation, and steam was visible coming out of the room. There was mold in some spots on the ceiling. The bathroom looked nice at first, but the shower drained so slowly that water collected around our feet. The sliding door could go too far past the wall, leaving you trapped inside if you closed it a little too much. The room was for four people, and the whole stay was unpleasant.

At Toscana Hôtel, the reception staff were really nice. I can’t remember his name, but I think the man who helped me was Mohammad. I stayed one night after being upgraded from Linda Inn, and I really appreciated the service. The room was enjoyable, especially the bidet in the bathroom. Had I known about the upgrade, I would have booked three nights.
