There was no one at reception, so I couldn't tell anyone that my attic room had no heating. The place was dirty and run-down, and breakfast was stale bread with mediocre cold cuts and not a vegetable in sight. Easily the worst hotel I've stayed in. I wouldn't go back even for free. I've seen higher standards in homeless shelters.

That outdoor seating area is great, and the waitress made us feel right at home even though my German isn't very good. We stopped near the end of our four-day bike ride along the Rhine for a drink, but I was ready for a second round. Feldschlösschen is a damn good lager. I'd recommend the place to everyone.

The bar was the highlight. I had a fantastic schnitzel with chips and a gruner salad, really satisfying. I needed a place to stay in Mohlin while visiting relatives and friends I hadn't seen in 20 years, and this worked very well. The room was spacious, had all the amenities, the shower was hot, and the mattress was very comfortable. Hard to fault it, well recommended.

The restaurant is cosy and attractive. The hotel itself felt a bit like staying at my grandparents' place. I shared a room with two colleagues, and the shower and toilet were a long way down the corridor.
