B&B Hotel Zürich Airport Rümlang

The rooms were clean, but both were so tiny there wasn't even enough floor space for a carry-on. Our group had two couples staying one night, and we couldn't tell whether the size had anything to do with the tour's contracted rate. Each bathroom had two thin towels and a basic all-in-one shampoo and shower gel, with no tissues. The buffet breakfast was okay. We were told the lounge tea and coffee machines were only free during breakfast, and there was no kettle in the room. We've travelled around Europe at least twice a year for 20 years, and this didn't feel like an acceptable three-star hotel to us. The online photos looked great, but staying there felt misleading. In the US, we'd say the rooms wouldn't qualify as a two-star hotel, more like a hostel or pension. A tissue box, a hand towel, and perhaps a folding luggage rack would help.

The warehouse view hummed through the night and kept us awake. The room was tiny, with dirty walls, and the elevators were tiny too. The beds felt like two twin beds pushed together. They also charged us $35 for parking. I'd look for somewhere else.

The lobby was cozy and a comfortable spot to meet friends, and the breakfast was really good, with lots of vegetables, different cheeses, and sweet choices. The hotel is near the airport, but the room was bright, clean, and very pleasant. We couldn't hear the airport because the rooms are well soundproofed.

We were very grateful for how the lobby staff handled an emergency involving someone in our group. They helped him and called an ambulance even though he didn't speak the language. The service and help meant a lot to us. The location is handy too, about a 10-minute walk from Rünlang station, which connects you to the whole city, and a 10-minute drive from the airport. Breakfast is included and was amazing compared with other hotels. I'd strongly recommend this hotel for a visit to Zürich.
