The food was amazing, which makes sense if the chef owns the hotel. My wife and I had a great stay, and the friendly, helpful staff and relaxing Jacuzzi made it even better.

We spent five days here in October with our dog and really enjoyed it. The large, lovely room at the front was clean and quiet, though in the warmer season, when the garden restaurant is busy in the evenings, we’d prefer a room at the back. A shoe tray for muddy hiking boots would be useful in the rooms, and it would be great to see a Spanish and a Portuguese red wine added to the wine list. The service was friendly and very attentive. Both the food and the generous breakfast buffet were excellent. Keep it up!

We only stayed for drinks, since we weren’t offered food, perhaps because we arrived too late. The evening restaurant was pretty empty, and the atmosphere in the big, hall-like hotel and business space didn’t feel very inviting. The staff were trying hard and quite service-minded, but I’m used to better. Prices were reasonable, and maybe it gets lively in winter. I can’t give half stars here, or I’d rate it 2.5.
