Hotel Europa

My partner became seriously ill, so we asked more than 48 hours ahead if we could move our expensive weekend booking to another weekend and let the hotel keep the earnings. They refused, including when we tried through Booking. Now our choices are to lose CHF 600 or spend the weekend there while very sick. Thanks for the understanding and flexible policies. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

The breakfast staff were really nice, but the man at reception when I checked out was rude and seemed annoyed when I asked about the parking payment. He made me regret staying there. Our room was spacious and clean when we arrived, though there was hardly any cleaning during the stay, and the beds were very uncomfortable.

After the awful cigarette smoke at Popcorn Hotel forced us to switch, Europa made us feel welcome and adjusted to our needs. They let us check in at 1 pm, and the hotel was clean and smoke free. The rooms are modern and tidy. I’d worried the bathrooms might feel outdated, but they’re charming for a Swiss village and clean. We also enjoyed the views and the clean, relaxing spa.

We went in June and July 2019 on an Inghams holiday package and had a lovely, relaxed stay. The hotel and our room were clean, and the balcony and dining room had lovely views. Staff were all friendly and spoke English; the manageress was especially caring and supportive. We enjoyed the food every day. Breakfast had a good cold buffet, and the included three course dinner came with a drink. The packed lunches were provided daily, even for the journey home, and we liked being able to choose what and how much to pack ourselves. The Saas-Fee pass covered the lifts and buses except the very top of the highest lift. We found the upgrade worthwhile because it also included the ‘ice palace’. We spent very little extra money, so it was great value for Switzerland and a great holiday.
