Great staff, amazing nature, and real Swiss countryside, just a 25-minute drive from Lucerne.

The patio is such a peaceful spot in the evenings, with beautiful mountain views. The owner or manager even offered soccer balls for the kids to use at the nets behind the hotel. I was there with a group of teens and adults, and out of the five hotels we stayed at on our trip, Flue Matte was by far the cleanest. The rooms are simple but adequate and clean, the meals were delicious, and everyone loved being offered seconds. Such a wonderful hotel, with very friendly staff.

For a single bed, I highly recommend room 303. The view in the setting sunlight is breathtaking, and I bet the sunrise is just as fantastic. The rooms feel a little small by American standards, though perfectly acceptable by European ones. Service at the inn has been top notch, and all the staff have been extremely friendly and accommodating to our large group traveling through Europe. Plus, they have moo cows, and you can never go wrong with moo cows.

Great food and a very friendly staff. I wish all Swiss people were as nice as the ones at this hotel 👍

The food was delicious. It's a lovely chalet, though the beds were small and separate. We expected one double bed, but got two singles in wooden frames next to each other.
