Romantik Hotel Muottas Muragl

We stopped for one night while passing through ST. Moritz and happened to be there between two heavy snowfalls. It was incredibly peaceful, with amazing views and walks in the surrounding area. The food at the panoramic restaurant was just what you'd expect from a place like this, and everything stood out. Thanks to the staff, including the funicular team, who were always as helpful as they could be.

I went to the property on 14 February 2026, planning to stay and sort out an earlier reservation issue face to face. I was told that police would be contacted unless I boarded the next funicular, which was leaving in about four minutes. In the end, I was told to leave. They refunded the accommodation charge, but finding somewhere else at short notice led to 1,160.67 CHF in additional expenses, which I have documented. My concern here is how the situation was handled and whether the escalation was proportionate, not the cancellation policy. The hotel can only be reached by funicular, and its operating hours are limited, so guests should plan their travel carefully. This is a factual account of what happened to me.

You can only reach this romantic mountain hideaway by the included funicular railway. High above the Upper Engadin valley, it has wonderful views and sunsets. Breakfast was lovely, and dinner was superb, with the lakes, St. Moritz, and the mountain peaks in view.

The staff were amazing, and it felt like a really romantic stay. I prefer my pillows a little firmer, but I had a great time overall.
