Landhotel Hirschen

The room was cozy and clean, with its own bathroom, a comfortable bed, and lovely down comforters and feather pillows. The building is beautiful too, and there’s plenty of free parking. We came for an overnight getaway after seeing the recommendations and photos, and it lived up to them. Dinner was a highlight. My partner and I shared a perfectly cooked Chateaubriand. He had the ginger soup, while I tried the regional Riesling soup, and both were excellent. We were too full for dessert, but the cappuccino and complimentary chocolate morsels were a lovely finish. The food was tip top, and the local wines were fairly priced and went nicely with the meal. The hosts were kind and welcoming to tourists and expats. As an American living in Switzerland, I appreciated how communicative and attentive the staff were, and that they followed Covid protocols closely. They’re also happy to help with wine pairings and how you like your meat cooked. For the quality of the service, the food and room prices felt extremely reasonable. The owner oversees every detail, and nothing seemed overlooked. We’d love to come back.
