Hotel Joopi

The hotel was very clean, and both breakfast and dinner were tasty. Breakfast had a great variety. There was some noise from the construction next door, but it stops in the early evening, so it's fine if you don't plan to spend the day inside the hotel. Since it's up in the mountains, the nights are cool, which was a nice escape from the heat wave.

I stayed from May 29 to June 1, 2025, and this was by far my worst hotel experience in Switzerland. I've opened an official complaint with the Swiss authority. The room was tiny and uncomfortable, below even basic expectations, and I found the place extremely overpriced and far below Swiss standards. There was no staff around except briefly in the morning, so there was no help, reception, or service. Breakfast was chaotic, with one coffee machine for everyone, an empty buffet, and no staff on site. When I left early because of these conditions, the hotel refused any refund or flexibility and charged me for a night I hadn't used. The attitude felt cold, impersonal, and not guest-oriented. The place lacks hospitality and should be declassified. I wouldn't stay here, especially if you expect the professionalism usually found in Swiss hotels. Management's inflexibility and disregard for guest rights felt unprofessional and close to the edge of legal limits.

The owners were really nice, and the room was comfortable. We loved the patio, a great place for dinner and a beer. It was conveniently located on our motorcycle tour, and this was our favorite stay. We'd definitely recommend it.

The customer service was especially remarkable, and the staff were friendly. In a 245-year-old building, the well-kept rooms gave us the feeling of staying in cabin homes. Breakfast was satisfactory, and overall it was a commendable experience.
