Holiday Inn Express & Suites Sion by IHG

I spent four nights at the Holiday Inn in Sion last week, and I've never had such a good experience in Valais, Switzerland. I accidentally booked for one person, but they didn't make an issue of it or charge me the difference for a room for two. They even waived the extra charge for the second breakfast. That's unheard of in Switzerland! The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and everyone was kind and available, including the cleaning team and breakfast staff. Breakfast was a real treat. I noticed people who weren't staying at the hotel coming in to enjoy it too. I stay at lots of hotels for both work and personal travel, and other Swiss hotels could learn a lot from this place. Big thanks to all the staff and management. I recommend it wholeheartedly and will stay here whenever I'm back in Valais.

The team were phenomenal, always kind and attentive and happy to go the extra mile. Alejandro even spoke Spanish and Dutch with us. We loved our stay and will definitely return if we're back in Sion. Our room had stunning views of the castle, and the beds were comfortable, with a choice of firmer or softer mattresses. The building is very new, in a great location, and has a rooftop and gym on the sixth floor, plus a lovely bar by the lobby. Breakfast was good, with a few changes available for people staying longer. I saw some athletes, so maybe other guests would appreciate hard boiled eggs as an addition to the menu.

Breakfast was super, and I'm glad I chose this hotel. The room was clean with a great view, and the bathroom was bright, though the water pressure was a little weak. The bed was good, but the pillow felt a bit too soft. Great receptionist, Ms Keria, sorry if I got the name wrong. Paid parking and EV charging are available right below the hotel.

It's a new, clean hotel with really friendly staff. There's a nice little bar downstairs, good for a first or last beer of the evening. A TV in the bar for watching sports would be nice, though.
