Dom Studios

Getting around was easy, with the studios just a five-minute walk from St. Gallen train station and close to lots of restaurants and grocery stores. Self check-in was straightforward too. The hotel emailed the main door and key room lock codes the day before. The studios are in a separate building from the main lobby. My room was a decent size and had a small kitchen with the basics, including a fridge/freezer, small stove, and oven, though there was no microwave. The bed was small but comfortable. There's a slope across the middle of the room, and I bumped my head on it a few times even though I'm only 5'5, so it may not suit taller guests. I hadn't booked housekeeping, but on my last night someone emptied the bins and seemed to leave fresh towels, which was nice. Noise was the main drawback. The studios are a few floors above one or two restaurants, and doors slamming downstairs would sometimes make the whole room vibrate. I'm a light sleeper, so I'd recommend bringing a white noise machine and running it at night. It usually got quiet around 10:30-11, but that didn't help when I needed an early night. Still, for the price and what was included, I enjoyed my stay in the second half of my trip around Switzerland.
