Roggenstock Lodge

Really enjoyable atmosphere and great staff. The restaurant has the best range of vegan dishes we've come across in Switzerland. We loved the curry, lentil pancakes, and wine.

We didn't stay here, but this place was the highlight of our week in the region and more or less the only reliable spot we found. It's close to a bus stop, and there's a huge paid parking lot if you're driving. The all-you-can-eat breakfast had good food, and the staff were friendly, capable, and gave great service. We had dinner with our child, and it was flawless: the salad, pizza, and dessert were delicious. The hotel has a restaurant too, and it's right beside the ski area for children and adults. For more challenging runs, there's another station two bus stops farther along.

We stopped for a late lunch at the Roggenstock Lodge Restaurant and shared goulash soup, a salad bowl, and sweet potato fries with truffle mayonnaise. Everything was really good. The produce was fresh, and it was all very tasty.

We had a renovated room that was clean and lovely, with a very comfortable bed. We slept well, and even with the bedroom window open, it stayed quiet. We needed the window open to keep the room from getting too hot. The staff were very friendly, and the owner is closely involved. I enjoyed chatting with them about the hotel and their future plans. They're renovating around eight rooms each year. The modern, clean spa under the roof has two saunas and a steam room. Between sauna sessions, you can make tea and relax indoors or on the balcony. The saunas have a nice mountain view, and watching the sunset from there was perfect. The restaurant serves great food at fair prices, though we were charged 7 CHF for tap water even though we had ordered other drinks.
