Hotel Schäfli

The room was very hot, and the bathroom had no door, with a panorama window between it and the bedroom. I was on my own, but I still can't see why anyone would want that layout. Having to go 800 m for breakfast doesn't help the rating either. The place has been newly refurbished, though.

The room was clean, modern, cosy, and nicely designed. There are snack and coffee machines, a Dyson heat/cooler for extra comfort, and automated check-in means you can get in at any time. One issue was a strong smell of jawel water in the room, which bothered me because I'm allergic to it. It might have been a one-off cleaning mistake, or could be connected to the bathroom having no door. The toilet opens onto the bedroom, which probably explains the smell and possibly others. The jalusines were so thin that daylight woke us at 7am. We only noticed the additional wooden jalusines outside the next day, so that wasn't really an issue after all. There was also a cigarette bin and chairs in the backyard. If the smell and bathroom setup could be improved, I'd give it five stars.

I was in Uzwil for work and got a really big room, room 22. It's a quiet hotel, better than the one at the railway station. The one downside was that I bumped my head every time. There's no reception or breakfast.

The modern, clean bathroom and coffee on the ground floor were nice, and otherwise it's a good hotel. But the pillows were awful, far too flat and soft, with no alternative, and the curtains are very thin. There's no breakfast here, though you can go to Hotel Uzwil for it. With no reception, it can be annoying when something isn't working.
