Surcasti is a beautiful village, and this hotel and restaurant are a dream. The little rock cellar was a highlight, with appetizers made from fine local produce and a big choice of wines. We stayed two nights, had a hearty breakfast and a lovingly made dinner, then went for a challenging hike through the wonderful mountain scenery. Rita and Lisa were so thoughtful, and Johann is a master in the kitchen. They made us feel very welcome and appreciated. It’s lovely to find restaurateurs who put their heart into what they do.

Vals has a special mix of peace and vitality, a great place to recharge. The rooms are wonderfully rustic, with modern bathroom amenities, and the breakfast is excellent, full of regional products. Friendly service and a fine little restaurant too. I’m thrilled, this place is worth experiencing.
