Vevey Hotel & Guesthouse

The room was large, with a great view and very comfortable beds. Just be aware that the shower and toilet are shared, though separate, with four of each. They were very clean, but people coming and going made some noise. Each floor has a tea-making area, and there’s a small lift. WiFi was sketchy in our room but quite good in the hallway, and there’s no TV. The staff were very helpful. Ask them about the Riviera Card, which offers free regional travel and discounts at local attractions. We booked this guest house well in advance for New Year’s Eve because we wanted to be central, near public transport, and close to things to do around Lake Geneva. It worked well for that. The railway station is an easy five-minute walk away, and you can walk along the lake toward Montreux or Lausanne; there are bus routes and trains as well. We wanted to visit the local ski fields and Chaplin's World, and go walking, so the location suited us perfectly. For New Year’s Eve we ate at Bla Bla restaurant, where the food was excellent. It was a little expensive by Australian standards, but that’s what things cost here. Thibault, our server, was excellent.

Vevey House was a great hotel and hostel combination, and affordable too. It’s right beside the promenade, in an amazing location. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. They even printed train tickets for us when we needed them. I’d definitely stay again.

We had a personal room with a shared bathroom for one night. The property was clean, and we enjoyed our stay. The window had a very good view, including Lake Geneva. The location was perfect. Do check the photos.

The location was a real plus, and the transport card covers public transport across Vevey and the whole Montreux Riviera area. It’s included in the hotel price, which is great, but our receptionist forgot to give it to us, so remember to ask. The room itself had no charm and felt far too expensive for what it offered. Cleaning had been missed in places, including under the bed. We were given one very old hanger, and the bathrooms and toilets felt like something from a college. The room was also quite noisy. Maybe it was related to the Euro period, but we heard several explosions one night.
