Swiss Historic Hotel Masson Veytaux

We’ve just come back from a week at The Hotel Masson as a group of six. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. We’d recommend staying there.

The staff were the best part for me. We felt very welcome, and the service was outstanding. There were a few issues in our room, but they fixed them quickly. The hotel has a lovely old-fashioned charm, and staying there alongside our visit to Chillon castle made for a great historic experience, almost like being in Switzerland 200 years ago. We came mainly to see the castle, so the location worked well, about a 10-minute walk away. The walk back takes longer because the hotel is on a steep hill. We had a delicious 4-course dinner at the hotel, and breakfast was great too. I’ll definitely return.

A lovely hotel with helpful staff and a nice breakfast. Getting there from the public bus means tackling a steep hill, which can be a lot for anyone, especially with luggage. By car, uber, or taxi it’s not an issue. Keep the uphill walk in mind if mobility is a concern. That’s why I’m giving it 4 stars.

The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well-equipped, and the peaceful atmosphere made it a nice place to relax after sightseeing. Hotel Masson is full of character and well maintained. It’s also not far from the train and bus station, which made it convenient for exploring nearby areas while still feeling quiet. Our stay was one of the best decisions of the trip, from the warm welcome onwards. Simona and her team really stood out. She made sure we were comfortable, always greeting us with a genuine smile, and the whole staff was polite, professional, and attentive. They helped with recommendations and special requests, and checked in on us during the stay. We felt valued, and the personal touches made the place feel like a home away from home. It’s clear they care about guests’ comfort, and that made the visit memorable and enjoyable. Hotel Masson is a place I’d gladly return to, whether for a short visit or a longer holiday. The cozy atmosphere, comfortable rooms, convenient location, and warm hospitality all made our stay delightful. Highly recommended. If we come back, it’ll be our first choice. 5/5.
