Hotel Du Port

The lake view was amazing, and the room stayed clean and a pleasant temperature. The water pressure was great too. It looked small at first, but there was a fridge, a huge closet, comfortable beds, and two chairs with tables. No electric kettle, though. We paid about 170 eur per night. The receptionist clearly explained that street parking was free from evening until 9 am the next day, so we paid for the next day's ticket at night and left it in the car. Breakfast was basic but had everything. The lift was funny and a little scary, but worked fine 😂. It was very quiet overnight during our Saturday stay in January. Nothing to complain about!

We loved stepping out of the hotel onto the waterfront path, with the water right across the street. The location is great, and Oasis, a good restaurant, is just opposite too. Inside, the rooms are bright and airy, with a Greek feel. The front desk staff were kind and caring.

The setting is beautiful, between wooded mountains and vineyards, right along Lake Geneva. Transport is easy with the rail and bus network, and taking one of the old fashioned paddle steamers that stop in Villeneuve is a real delight. It's a small, modern, comfortable hotel that works well for families. Staff were welcoming and polite. Continental breakfast is included in the room price and served in the 'La Jardin'/Garden room.

Getting here was easy, just a five minute walk from the train station, and the location is terrific. We walked from the hotel to Chillon Castle, about 20 minutes along a lovely lakeside route. The older building is spotlessly clean and well maintained, and the staff are lovely and helpful. Road noise wasn't really an issue. Still, it feels like it needs renovating, as if the owners are sweating the asset. The rooms were a tad cold in autumn and winter, while the breakfast room was hot and poorly ventilated. Breakfast had limited choice, and the plastic flowers added colour beneath some harsh neon lights.
