Sorell Boutique-Hotel Krone Winterthur

Being right in town made it easy to get around, and I made good use of the free bike rental. My king room was spacious, with hardwood floors and a nice design. I was there a few weeks ago to visit a friend in Winterthur, and I'd happily stay again next time.

Peggy at Reception was fantastic, attentive, and even helped us find places to visit. The whole team deserves credit. We stayed four nights in two rooms with two adults, two children, and our Labrador, and the hotel was genuinely pet friendly. The rooms were comfortable and good value, and the parking felt very secure, though using the lift for it was an interesting experience. One small thing: the hot breakfast items weren't hot, whether we went at 7am or 10am. I mention it in case it helps the hotel fix an issue that may have come up in another review. It was minor overall. We'd gladly return, probably while our son studies nearby. Thanks to Peggy and the team.

I booked room 402 and asked for a quiet room. One night, people kept going in and out of the room next door, with loud talking and music. It got louder even after 11 PM. If partying in rooms is allowed under Sorell Krone Hotel's policy, I wouldn't have chosen to stay here. I called Reception, but was told the receptionist had finished work and I would have to wait until morning. I shouldn't have had to put up with the noise all night. I asked to move if they couldn't resolve it. About 15 minutes later they called back to say a room on the first floor was available, so I had to pack and unpack around midnight. The restaurant and security staff were very helpful within their limited capacity. At checkout I told the receptionist what had happened, and she promised an update. I've still heard nothing from the hotel. There's no sense of responsibility at all.

Finding the hotel was difficult when I arrived by train after 10PM. Once there, though, the service was amazing, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was VERY comfortable. The large windows open, which suited me since I dislike air conditioning.
