Albani

The room was clean, and having a smart TV was a plus. The shared areas weren't great, though, and the rooms got hot despite the windows opening. You enter through the bar, then take a short, steep staircase. The parking situation was a real problem. Parking wasn't free or available as advertised. They suggested university parking at 28 CHF per day, or street parking more than 1 km away.

The rooms are clean, but none of the kitchen equipment works, so be careful about what kind of stay you're expecting. If you're exhausted and need a night's sleep before leaving early the next day, this is the worst choice. There's no parking offered for guests with a car.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, but I couldn't get the WiFi to work for more than a few minutes during my 12-hour stay. I was there one night for a business trip, Saturday into Sunday, and had to get up early. There was an intern party. They asked me to join, but I was trying to sleep. At 3:40 a.m., the guests woke me with very loud music and talking, and I couldn't get back to sleep. The hotel has no parking.

At Albani Hotel, you're right in the middle of Winterthur's nightlife, with music and fun all around.
