Nicole left sandwiches and a bottle of wine for our first evening, which was very thoughtful. The apartment has all we needed, including a comfortable bed, a lovely bathroom with a jacuzzi that felt great after a long hike, and a corner sofa for relaxing. We could sit outside together and enjoy the Matterhorn view. I do wish we'd met host Nicole in person, but she was easy to reach by phone and app and made arrival simple. We'll definitely return.

We loved how enjoyable it was to sit outside on the terrace and look straight at Europe's most noble rock. The apartment was beautifully finished and had everything we needed, plus that enviable view. We spent six wonderful days here in August with our host, Nicole. Maybe the weather helped, but we headed out on foot for great walks and to the nearby gondola lift. It's high above the town center in a quiet, quaint neighborhood of dark wood cabins and chalets, with a small church and a little children's playground. Even the ten-minute walk downhill into town was pleasant, with a chance to take in the view from above.

Nicole is always reachable and glad to help with questions. The apartment stays very clean, and the kitchen has everything you need. Even when the weather isn't perfect, it's comfortable here and you can still enjoy the day. Our time in this lovely vacation apartment has flown by again. It's our fifth stay, and we're already looking forward to coming back. Hard to believe today is our last day of vacation.

The electric bus stop is only about 50 meters away, and this is a superb base for hikes. It's a great house. Too bad the shop in Winkelmatten is gone, so now we have to head down to the village when we need to shop.
