Haus Hörnligrat

The penthouse was a great base for a winter break at Haus Hörnligrat. Inside, it felt warm and cozy with the supplied log fire, and everything was first class, from the high-spec fixtures to the well-equipped kitchen. We had a perfect view of the Matterhorn. Getting around was easy: the ski bus for the glacier paradise lifts was about 100m away, the Gornergrat railway terminal took five minutes on foot, and the Sunegga train was just down two flights of steps across from the entrance. There was also a ski store in the basement and lifts to the apartments. Snowboat, a popular apres ski bar, was about 100m away and a handy place for a drink or snack after skiing. There was a lot of street construction, though it seemed temporary and didn't affect our stay. It would have been nice to see it finished. The entrance and signs aren't very inviting, but once we were inside the apartment, those doubts went away. We had a lovely stay, largely thanks to this place.

We spent a lot of time relaxing by the fireplace, it made the apartment feel so cozy. The interior was beautiful, and the Matterhorn view was fantastic. The kitchen had everything we needed, even a cheese fondue caquelon. The landlord was supportive and helpful.

Everything was immaculately maintained, right down to the kitchen and laundry details, and the Matterhorn view was fabulous. Our family stayed for three nights in April 2019, and we were picked up at the train station and driven back after checkout. The staff were dedicated and very helpful. We'll stay here again next time, nowhere else.

The train station pickup and drop-off were really handy, and the service was super friendly. The apartment was amazing, with incredible views.
