City Stay Apartments Nordstrasse

I've lived in Zurich as an expat a couple of times over the years, so I can say from experience these are the best serviced apartments I've found here. The location is right in the heart of the city, with great public transport. The tram stop is a 50 m walk, and a 5-8 minute ride gets you to the central train station or main shopping area. That's especially handy with luggage after a flight. You can also walk to the central station in 15 minutes or the main restaurant and shopping area in 20. Limmat is two minutes away on foot if you like swimming. There are paid parking spaces in front of the building, and I believe City Stay can provide its own parking badge if you ask. The apartments are very well maintained. I've stayed in several serviced apartments in Zurich, and City Stay was the best for cleanliness, space, furniture, design, and how practically everything is set up. It was also the best value for money. I spent weeks looking through hundreds of places while trying to find a home after starting expat life during Covid. If you're a hygiene freak like me, you'll be pleased. Across my stays, which totaled three years, I never spotted a single spot anywhere. The beds are super comfortable, and housekeeping regularly takes care of everything. The bathrooms are clean and spacious, as are the other rooms. The kitchen is very well equipped with an oven, cooker, fridge, freezer, coffee machine, kettle, dishwasher, and microwave. The living room has a bed-sofa, dining table, TV, and enough storage, and there's plenty of storage in the bedroom too. This was the only apartment where I never had trouble finding room for my belongings. On a clear day, you may be able to enjoy coffee with a view of the Swiss Alps from the living room or balcony. The property management are friendly, helpful, and easy to reach. I needed to contact them quickly a few times about the apartment, utilities, payment, and keys, and they were available 24/7. Even without a reception desk staffed around the clock, there's always someone who answers and helps, even if you have a key problem at 11 p.m. on a Sunday. Communication throughout my stay was much better than at many hotels and apartments I've tried. I stayed in these apartments twice, for almost three years in total. If I return to Zurich for a short or long stay, City Stay will be my only choice, if they have availability.

I stayed here for five nights, and I think it's one of the best apartments to choose in Zurich. Its best feature is the location: Beckenhof Tran Station is just 30 metres away, and Tram 11 and 14 go directly to Zurich HB, where the main action is. The apartment was impeccably maintained, with cutlery and furniture that looked as good as new. The code for the door lock is sent when you book. Wi-Fi was quite stable, and the balcony made the stay even better.

There’s plenty of room, and the apartments are clean and furnished well.
