Hotel Limmathof

There’s a COOP around the corner for groceries, and shops are all around, so getting things was easy. Our room for four was warm and cozy, with a view over the river and train station. The hotel was convenient, clean and well kept. The bed was on the soft, springy side. I especially liked the cheerful staff member in the breakfast area. He smiled, was warm, and made all the guests feel welcome.

A good pick for a low to mid-range budget, with a perfect location. The station is right in front of the hotel, making the airport easy to reach by train. You can walk to Zurich Old Town, and Starbucks is also right nearby, basically zero distance.

We got a lovely welcome, and the four-bed room was spacious. The hotel has an old-fashioned charm and is conveniently just a short walk from the train station.

I chose it for the location. It’s in a historic building, but the hotel inside is quite simple. The room was big enough for three, though it didn’t feel spacious, and it was tidy, clean and comfortable. Storage was a problem: the table was small, there was no closet, and there weren’t enough places to hang clothes. It was a bit warm and there’s no air conditioning. There are also lots of stairs, which could be a challenge with big luggage.
