The team made us feel at home by handling our group’s particular needs with real kindness and flexibility. Everyone was professional and warm, and they made sure we were looked after throughout our stay. Mr.Warran deserves a special thank you for making us feel so welcome. That people first approach made everything easier and more enjoyable. If you want attentive service from a team that can adapt, I’d absolutely recommend this hotel. We had a wonderful time.

The atrium’s 16 metre glass wine tower is the hotel’s showpiece, with an automated mechanism retrieving bottles and turning storage into a bit of theatre. The rest of the place is corporate in feel, but everything runs precisely and efficiently. I stayed one night on an award booking after arriving late. Since the building is integrated into Zurich Airport, it took only a few indoor minutes to walk from arrivals to reception. In the morning, getting to the railway station beneath the terminal was just as easy: lift to the concourse, then escalator to the platforms. My standard king room was set up for three, with the extra bed arranged ahead of time, and had a runway view. Comfortable, contained and well connected.

The room was spacious and clean, but the bed and pillows weren’t especially comfortable. The WiFi kept dropping even though I was in the room, so I was glad I had roaming data. I expected more for the price and rating, and would choose the cheaper capsule hotel or another airport hotel with a shuttle next time. Getting there is easy, it’s attached to Zurich Airport and about a two minute walk from arrivals. Check-in was another matter: there was a long line and no one managing the crowd, so some people cut ahead. They found my reservation easily, but the key cards didn’t work in either the elevator or my room. I held them by the elevator scanner for the instructed three seconds, but its light went red. A couple staying there tried them too and confirmed they didn’t work. They used their own card to activate the elevator and said they’d had scanner trouble when they first arrived. I went to the room, found the door card reader red as well, and had to haul my heavy suitcase back downstairs after a day of travel. The receptionist was dismissive and asked if I’d used the right elevators, as if I couldn’t understand “elevators behind the bar.” She clicked something on the computer, walked me back, and the cards worked. Instead of saying they should work now, she snarked, “See? They work.” She could have handled it with basic customer service. At 7:20 AM, housekeeping woke me by vacuuming and banging into the walls, then repeatedly slamming the toilet seat in the rooms next door and above. I called reception, but the noise carried on for another hour and I didn’t get back to sleep. I’ve never had this problem in “lesser rated” hotels.

For an early flight, it’s hard to beat the short walk from the hotel to the check-in area. The rooms are roomy and clean, and the bed is comfortable, so it’s a good place to rest before travelling. The lounge and bar also work well for business guests who want to get some work done or have a quick meeting. Check-in and check-out were simple, which made the transit stay easy.
