Pacific Resort Aitutaki

The service made this stay worth every penny. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and so helpful. The rooms were immaculate, the grounds looked stunning, and the beach was beautiful. I felt completely in heaven here.

The setting is the one thing I liked: lovely plants and ocean views, and a great location. The service, though, really let the hotel down. I’d spent two nights at Aitutaki Lagoon Private before this, where the people were friendly and helpful, and there was more variety in both food and activities. Here, it felt like some staff didn’t enjoy their jobs. Almost half seemed lazy, and at dinner, once we’d ordered, we couldn’t get any more service. There weren’t many activities, and car and scooter rentals cost more. While we waited at reception to check in, nobody offered us water or a coconut. Two receptionists giggled behind us. When we were leaving, we saw a Caucasian couple with coconuts and big smiles from the reception staff. I don’t know if it was because of my skin color, but it made me wonder. If you’re hoping for a good memory and a wonderful holiday, I’d choose Aitutaki Lagoon Private instead. I wouldn’t spend my money here.

Pardeep, the resort manager, made our wedding night unforgettable. He went beyond simply accommodating us and helped arrange a surprise dinner, while making sure everything else during our stay went smoothly. That personal care matched the rest of Pacific Aitutaki. The staff were warm, the grounds immaculate, and the design thoughtful. The location is spectacular, and every detail seemed carefully considered. I rarely find a place that leaves me struggling to critique it. This is one I’ll remember for a long time.

We only ate at the restaurant, which has gorgeous views. I ordered the omokase, but the sushi rice was hard and the sashimi looked old. My friend ordered the same thing and hers seemed old too. I told our waiter, and they removed my dish from the bill, but they still charged my friend. I can’t believe the chef served that to us. Gross.
