Muri Beach Club

Choosing a hotel from online pictures and reviews is hard, but I can highly recommend Muri Beach Club Hotel and hope to stay again soon. As a hotel manager, travel can be tougher because your standards change, but this place met our expectations. The staff were very helpful over the phone before we arrived and arranged our Buggy Tour. Check-in was easy, the road sign was easy to spot, parking was free, and reception staff were warm and welcoming. Someone carried our bag upstairs to room 207. The room was huge, clean and well maintained, with views over the beach and Muri lagoon. It had a queen and king split bed, though we only used the queen. Free tea and coffee were provided, and there was a basic minibar at extra cost. The smart TV wasn’t connected to local channels but had apps; we didn’t use it. As soon as we arrived, we headed into the lagoon with the hotel’s equipment, then enjoyed the complimentary “summer sip” cocktail and canapé. The grounds and shared areas were clean and in good condition. Breakfast was included, with a continental buffet and a set hot dish of the day. We usually had both, and the food was fresh and tasty. The staff were consistently welcoming and made an effort to remember guests’ names. We also had massages in the indoor spa and both fell asleep, so it was clearly relaxing. We had activities booked every day and didn’t spend loads of time at the hotel, but the time we did spend there was fantastic. The Muri night markets and local restaurants are within walking distance, and there’s a bus stop outside if you haven’t rented a car.
