Enjoy Antofagasta

They wouldn't let me in with my 10L bag, which had a water bottle, my passport, phone chargers and other things. I returned earlier the next day, paid $5 to enter, and finally got in after 3 pm, only to learn the table games didn't start until 6. Goodness.

The rooms have a nice ocean view and balcony, and it's a very nice hotel, but the casino charges an entrance fee. At night, music from the empty casino gets extremely loud, so you could end up with a noisy room. The staff didn't seem to know the city well; it took 20 minutes to get a restaurant recommendation. It's outside downtown, so you'll need to walk or take an Uber.

Ask for a room facing the water. The view is beautiful. There are nice restaurants on site, along with the casino. Excellent hotel.

The place is overpriced, and I felt customers could be taken advantage of because this business has no competition. After I paid to enter, I couldn't order food or drinks or visit my friend who was staying at the hotel. They refused to refund my entrance fee, even though only five minutes had passed. While I spent an hour arguing to get my money back, I saw them remove some men who had won $4000 on $30, saying they'd “cheated” without giving any evidence. There was zero customer service. If you can avoid this place, do. It's a greedy multimillion dollar enterprise that seems able to do whatever it wants.
