Hotel Playa Blanca Antofagasta

The owner was always attentive to what we needed and gave us several tips for visiting the city. The neighborhood was very quiet, and the beach was nearby. Some rooms have a sea view. The beds were comfortable, the showers worked fine, and the service was good. Everything stayed very clean and smelled nice. A great place to stay, highly recommended.

I asked for a receipt and was told they couldn't provide it then, but would send it later. It never came. The shared bathrooms weren't consistently clean, and the rooms felt neglected. Some lights didn't work, and the thin walls let you hear everything in the neighboring rooms. Terrible hostel.

The location is handy, with transport around the city, plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby, and a supermarket close by. The stay itself was poor value, though, and they don't provide receipts. The rooms are small and you can hear everything through the walls. Bathrooms are shared and dirty, and I didn't enjoy the breakfast. Repairs in one bathroom went on late at night, so it couldn't be used and the noise disturbed other guests.

I called before arriving about parking and was told there was a space and that it would be reserved. Once there, I found no parking, just the option of leaving the car in the front yard. The rooms were awful, and a man was walking through the halls to the shared bathroom in his underwear. I called Groupon right away to cancel and went to a proper hotel instead. I had bought two Groupons, but the manager charged me as if I had used both for two nights and kept our money. This felt more like a boarding house than a hotel. I wouldn't recommend it.
