Airport transfers both ways are included, and Steve was super kind. He explained the excursions and key places around Hanga Roa, and his car rental deal with Oceanic gets you a 10,000 peso discount. Sorriso is a very good dog who never barks. The B&B is small, with a large, very clean room and bathroom, and it’s peaceful and quiet. Wi-Fi works well only in the breakfast room, but that wasn’t a problem for us. Breakfast was good, and the veranda with armchairs was a nice place to relax after excursions. It’s a 15-minute walk from the main square and 3 minutes from Thai, which is great for sunset. I’d improve the upkeep of the outdoor green areas. Excellent value.

The road to Residence Chez Steve is in very poor condition, so getting there is a bit of an adventure. It’s also some distance from the center of Honga Roa, and you should be ready to walk or rent a car as we did. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a fairly modern bathroom and reliable hot water. There’s no air conditioning, though that’s rarely needed on Easter Island. Breakfast is included and plentiful. Wi-Fi is available, but only works in or near the breakfast room. It’s a good place to stay for a few days.
