Hostal Sunny Days

Ross knows what travelers need. We felt so welcome, and breakfast had that lovely at-home feeling. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfortable, and the huge kitchen was really well equipped. There was plenty of space to hang out, plus fast, reasonably priced laundry and free secure parking. Thanks, Ross. If we make it back to Arica, we’ll stay again.

The hosts were the best part: Beatriz welcomed me warmly, and Ross helped book a tour to the national park and let me stay longer while I waited for my night bus. I really appreciated that and wish I could have stayed longer. The location is great too, in a safe area near the bus station, about a five minute walk from the beach. There’s a market across the street for groceries, a food court with good food, and a big supermarket and mall nearby. My room was clean, the sheets smelled fresh, towels were provided, and the showers were cleaned daily. Breakfast was served every morning, and there’s a rooftop where you can watch the sun set over Arica.

During more than six weeks of traveling around South America, this was one of our favorite stays. Ross and his wife are lovely, and the hostel feels cozy. We had comfortable beds, hot showers at any time of day or night, tasty breakfast, a quiet room, sociable shared spaces and a nice rooftop. Ross also gave us spot-on travel tips. If you’re lucky, he might take you on an adventure at sea.

Ross was a very friendly and helpful host, and we felt almost at home during a wonderful stay. The rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was warm. The kitchen was well equipped, and breakfast came with tasty bread. Great location near the market, beach and bus stop/station. Highly recommend!
