Right by the spot there’s public transport, and the hotel sits near the entrance to the azapa valley. Mornings get noisy from traffic and nearby schools. The neighborhood also doesn’t feel safe at night.

I’m not giving the restaurant at the "Hotel Sol de Arica" a third chance. Both visits were awful, with very long waits and arrogant replies from the cashier and kitchen manager Germán. They kept saying it was "restaurant policy," and the cashier even asked why I hadn’t returned the next day. After being served raw chicken, I didn’t see the point of coming straight back. On September 11th, my first time there, I ordered grilled chicken and waited over 50 minutes. I had another commitment, so I asked them to pack it. At home I opened the container and found the chicken completely raw and inedible. I had to throw it away, and sent the restaurant a WhatsApp message with photos explaining what happened. The cashier apologized and promised a replacement dish for free. About three months later, I returned to claim it, but they refused, saying enough time had passed. I also ordered lasagna, which took another 40 minutes, even though they described it as just a matter of heating and serving. The place wasn’t even full, so the wait made no sense. The whole thing felt like a joke, and their excuses showed no ethics. Extremely slow service and incredibly arrogant responses. Anyone looking for a bad time and with all the time in the world might find this place checks every box.

Good value, a breakfast that hit the spot, and excellent service. I recommend it.
