Andrea had great suggestions for restaurants, the brew pub, and nearby wineries, which you can get to by taxi. Umawtu is on a quiet side street, and I could walk to several places to eat. I enjoyed my two nights there. The shared sitting room is roomy and comfortable, and the full kitchen serves breakfast from 9 to 10:30 am: yoghurt, granola, ham, cheese, muffins, scrambled eggs, and coffee. There’s also a front patio that’s nice for unwinding with a glass of local wine, plus a small pool out back. My room was small, but worked for me alone. A couple might find it cramped. The bed was very comfortable, and having a bedside table and socket was welcome. There’s no A/C, though I didn’t miss it in February. I parked beside the gate at the front, which was fine. Andrea offered space inside, but I didn’t need it since the place is at the end of a cul de sac. The shower was my one annoyance: it swung from very hot to very cold, sometimes within seconds. I think it was because all five guests showered around the same time before breakfast, but it was still frustrating.

The big living room and comfy bed made it easy to settle in, and the pool was great for cooling off. We felt welcome at Umawtu bed and wine from the start. The host was super friendly and helpful, arranging wine tastings, lunch, and bicycle rental, and pointing us toward a few places to visit. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

I slept pretty well and spent some time relaxing by the pool. Such a welcoming, lovely place, and I really enjoyed chatting with Andrea. Loved my stay.

Breakfast was decent, though it doesn’t start until 9.30am, which may not work for everyone. The owner was helpful, and you can ask for a glass of wine. It’s a decent bed and breakfast in Casablanca Valley, fairly close to Casablanca town. It isn’t cheap.

The Wi-Fi is lousy, the shower keeps switching between hot and cold, and there’s no air conditioning, so it gets very hot inside. For what you get, the price feels about twice what it should be. It’s roughly a $35 room being sold for $80.
