MARA V.
The food and the personal, attentive service were both so good, and our room felt luxurious. We only wished we had booked more time here. The lodge sits right on the lake, and our private terrace looked out toward the mountains and northern ice field. With the weather so perfect, we spent the day on the beach and even went for a quick swim. Of all the lovely places we stayed along the Carretera Austral, this one really stood out.

You can tell how much care goes into this place. Everything is kept immaculately, and it’s excellent in so many ways.

The people here are what made the place feel magical. Everyone on staff was polite and took such good care of us, but they were also warm, supportive, and welcoming. By the end of our week, they felt like family. I can’t thank them enough. We loved every minute. We stayed in the quiet, secluded cabins, which were a lovely way to reconnect with nature. Each morning from the San Valentin suite, the landscape kept changing: pink clouds first, then sunlight on the icy peaks, then the gray rock and its shadows, and finally the icy water shifting through shades of blue. There was plenty to do. We rode horses to a waterfall, saw Guanacos at Patagonia National Park, kayaked Lake Beltrand, hiked to where the Baker and Neff rivers meet, explored an abandoned mine, watched Andean condors above the Marble caves, and crossed a rain forest for a view of a glacier. For slower days, we walked the pebbly shore of Lake General Carrera, rested by a warm fire in a comfortable bed, petted the friendly dogs, photographed owls, bats, and parrots in the trees, and wandered around Puerto Guadal. The scenery was almost too beautiful to take in, from vivid turquoise rivers and green grass forest to the colorful buildings in town. The restaurant was just as memorable, with dishes from smoked salmon tastings and mushroom tortellini to desserts like crème brulée and chocolate mousse that melt in your mouth. The lodging, food, views, and activities were all top notch. If you're still planning your trip, go! Best regards, Eric & Emily

The cabin had plenty of space for our family of four and was comfortable for our young kids too. Our hosts were wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed. Meals were generous and delicious, and there’s a charming little town nearby with restaurants and a great art gallery. We visited last year and had an unforgettable stay at this intimate, lovely lodge in a truly beautiful natural setting.

The dogs were the sweetest, and our roomy, comfortable cabin had amazing lake views. The hosts were lovely too. Best place we’ve stayed so far on our trip!
