Hostal Nomade

We came to Hostal Nómade in central Concepción, Chile, looking for somewhere to stay for a month. The staff treated us excellently, and there are family rooms with private bathrooms. Common areas get daily maintenance, the food is delicious, and the service is friendly. Prices range from basic to more exclusive. It works for short stays too. If you bring children, keep an eye on them on the stairs. Couples looking for privacy are placed on the upper floors. Greetings!

This used to be a good hostel, but now it’s gone downhill. There’s a strong, nauseating smell, and although I don’t mean this as discrimination, it’s full of Venezuelans. Children scream and cry, adults shout, and when I arrived, people were spitting from the rooms out onto the street. It’s a real shame. The hostel has died.

It’s dirty, hot, and poorly ventilated. People are shouting and playing loud music all night, and it’s full of Venezuelans. I’m not trying to discriminate, but that’s what was going on. I’d stayed here before, but now the place is run down. I hope it improves.

The basics are covered, and the hostel is affordable enough for a night. But comfort isn't its strong point. My room was tiny and had no window, so it felt stuffy when I was trying to sleep.
