Cabañas Los Maquis 7 Tazas

The river and the waterfall nearby made this feel like a real nature escape. It’s about a five-minute walk to the waterfall, and the cabins have river access too. 7 Tazas National Park is roughly 15-20 minutes away by car. The cabins are comfortable and well equipped, with salamanders for colder weather and comfy beds where you can unwind to the sound of the river. There’s loads of room on the property, which is great for kids to run around. The owner was attentive to what guests needed. We had a wonderful stay and hope to come back soon.

We had a great weekend and would happily return. The place was beautiful and well cared for, and our cabin was lovely, with comfortable, spacious rooms. We could get to the river from there, and there’s a waterfall about seven minutes away where you can swim. The service was excellent.

The river and waterfall are just steps away, and the quiet here is incredible. I’d definitely come back. The cabins are clean, the amenities were in good shape, and the host was friendly, attentive, and happy to share information. Just keep a few things in mind: there’s only Entel cell service, and electricity is available from 6:00 PM to midnight. Heating comes from a wood-burning stove, with firewood sold separately. The road runs 3 km from the paved road. Some parts are tough in a low-clearance vehicle and could be impassable in rainy weather, which is why I gave it 4 stars.

Such a beautiful spot, and the river can be heard from the house. We stayed in the cabin for seven, which was cozy and comfortable with everything we needed. If you get cold easily, bringing a sleeping bag wouldn’t hurt. The owner was really kind and attentive. There’s a lovely, peaceful tinaja area under a chestnut tree. The road is a bit tricky, but we made it in small cars without problems by following the owner’s directions. And there’s a waterfall just 10 minutes away. We absolutely recommend it and will definitely be back.
