Hare o Ahani felt like the right place for me on the island. The owner was kind and really helpful, including picking me up and dropping me off at the airport when I left. I could rent a bicycle there and cook for myself, even make coffee straight from Italy, while still having my independence and feeling at home. Everything I needed was within walking distance, and downtown Hanga Roa was about 15 minutes away on foot. The bed was comfy too :)

I ended up having the house to myself, so even though I’d booked a room with a shared bathroom, nobody disturbed me. The place was a few minutes’ walk from the center, comfortable, and equipped in a way that matched the price. The person looking after it during my stay was lovely.
