What made this place special wasn't the building or the facilities, but how it made me feel like a VIP. The manager is a genuinely helpful guy who goes beyond what you'd normally expect at a hostel. It's close to the airport, shops, and ocean, so I didn't need a taxi. I also got lucky and met some great fellow travellers there. Thanks for looking after me.

When we were both sick, Ita was so kind and thoughtful. He checked on us, gave us fish to make soup with, and even drove us to the airport when we couldn't get a taxi.

The owner was lovely. He met us at the airport and made sure we had what we needed. The accommodation itself is very simple, but it works if you're on a really tight budget. Laundry costs 5000 to 7000 pesos per bag.

I had a fabulous time at Hostal Vaihere. Ita was kind and helpful, and introduced me to other travellers staying there. The hostel is also conveniently close to the town centre.

It's basic, but so cheap that I didn't need anything more. We had a clean room, a good shower, and a little kitchen that was fine for cooking meals. There was some outdoor space to sit, too. The host was absolutely fantastic, and we had a lovely stay.
