Hostal La Serena

The location makes it easy to get around the city and reach the beach. Transit, restaurants, bars and sights are nearby, but the hostel isn’t in a noisy, tourist-heavy or unsafe area. I’m coming back! It’s a comfortable, clean, safe and family-friendly place. The beds are firm and fresh, and the outdoor area is a nice spot to work. Breakfast is included and plentiful, and the service is excellent. The owner really cares about guests being happy. He’s helpful and generous, and his English is not bad if you don’t speak Spanish.

The hosts were so gracious and helpful that we forgot we were staying in a hostel. There are several clean bathrooms, comfortable beds, and a great breakfast. Coffee and tea are available whenever you want. Each bed has a three-drawer dresser with a locker underneath. It fit my 35 L backpack with some extra room, though a 50 L bag wouldn’t fit. The main bus terminal and a very large shopping mall are just an 8-10 minute walk away. I’d stay again!

The price for what you get is unbeatable. It’s a clean, calm, cozy place, and the host is really nice and helpful. The location works well for getting between the bus station, Lider and the city centre. Definitely recommended.

For the price they ask, this place is incredible. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, and breakfast is super. The hosts are polite, very nice and helpful. It’s close to the bus terminal and a huge mall, with the town centre only a few blocks away.
