Cabaña Rustica Patagonia Chilena

The cabin was completely unhygienic and our stay was horrible. It smelled awful, and the dark interior, beds, sofa, and bathroom were all nauseating. The bedding and sofa smelled of urine and dampness, and the sofa was very low and hard. There was no effort to take out the trash before we arrived. The owner never came by to see if we needed anything, even though we were traveling with seniors and a child with special needs. The cabin isn't suitable for seniors or people with special needs. We left early because the conditions were unbearable. I do not recommend it.

This was one of the worst stays I've had, and I don't usually write reviews. The place is hard to reach, quite a drive from the nearest town, and the owner's directions weren't clear enough for a foreigner. The price is extremely high for what's offered; at that cost, you'd be better off in a hotel. If by “rustic” you mean a bad road that can damage your car, a damp cabin even in summer, old mattresses, disgusting pillows, cobwebs on the bed, insects on the walls, a greasy kitchen counter, and a fridge noisy enough to keep you awake, then this rustic option is for you. These cabins won't suit everyone, either. The stairs are very difficult to climb. The owner charges on arrival, perhaps so you can't change your mind after seeing the cabin. Without a 4x4, you'll have to park quite far away. Nothing is included, not even towels. The beds are ancient, and the floor is so dirty your shoes stick to it. I could go on, but I'm already feeling sorry for them.

The setting is beautiful and dreamy, with the gorgeous cabin surrounded by giant trees. It really feels magical. It costs $100,000 a day, but I think it's worth it. The road is narrow, so I wouldn't suggest taking a very wide car. A 4x4 would be a good choice if possible.

The cabins are cozy and fully equipped, and the hosts provide top-notch service that adds to the magic. It's a wonderful place that feels like stepping back in time: a lovely forest by day, then total darkness at night, with stars that feel almost close enough to touch. Highly recommended if you want to experience Chilean nature.
