The owner’s kindness was the best part. We ordered food, it arrived as requested, and she treated us very well. That alone is why I’m giving 3 stars instead of 2. The bedrooms are a decent size and look out over the lake, and the surroundings are lovely. It’s near Coñaripe and the tourist attractions, and they welcomed us with the slow-combustion stove going and enough firewood for the night. It’s inexpensive, so the value is good despite the problems, though price wasn’t a big factor for us and may matter more to other travelers. There are some basic things that need investment. The three-bedroom cabin had a tiny slow-combustion stove, and the firewood ran out after two hours. With the flue blocked, it couldn’t hold any more. Standard glass in the living and dining area and other windows let the cold in, which is rough in such a freezing area. The bedroom’s double-glazed window was old and only in fair condition, with a metal frame. The room was so cold that I woke up at 5:30 AM. There were cobwebs on lamps and in corners, so cleanliness and pest control need attention. Soundproofing was very poor, and I could hear the neighbors next door. The double bed mattress needs replacing. I could feel every slat in the frame. The gate had a padlock, so I had to get out of the car to open it, which was especially annoying in heavy rain. A motorized gate seems like a basic need for this kind of stay. I hope this feedback is taken constructively. These issues can be fixed, but they take investment and empathy for guests. Another option could be to offer better quality cabins at a different price, while keeping the more affordable ones with the shortcomings I mentioned.

A gorgeous setting, with cozy cabins, lovely views, and trails made for a walk or just taking it all in. 100% recommended.

The cabins are comfortable and well equipped, and the view is spectacular.
