The natural setting was beautiful, but poor upkeep took away from the stay. Our room had dirt, dust, and unpleasant smells, and the bugs and poor air quality made it hard to feel comfortable. We’d expected a peaceful, enjoyable visit to Cabañas de Bosque in Huilo Huilo, but the cleanliness fell short. It could be a paradise for nature lovers, yet the maintenance issues meant it didn’t meet our expectations.

The hotel administration helped find a solution after I explained what happened, but the bar administrator had already made the experience unpleasant. They were rude and told me I didn’t belong at the hotel and should go back to my cabin to cook. Everything else was great, apart from the bar and restaurant.

The nature around the cabin is beautiful, and the cabin itself was good. It had a refrigerator, kitchen supplies, a stove, a fireplace with wood provided, and a Nespresso coffee machine. There was no internet or TV, and check-in and check-out were complicated.

We visited in winter and loved having a cozy wood-burning fire. The accommodations were wonderful, and our whole family enjoyed being so close to nature.
