I liked the rooftop bar’s delicious cocktails, and sometimes there’s a DJ at night. The spa is included, and I appreciated being able to shower there after checkout. The gym is basic but worked for me. My room had a big, comfortable bed, lots of windows and natural light, and air conditioning that cooled it quickly. Front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and fluent in English. The neighborhood felt safe, though it’s quite far from many main attractions. Santiago is very walkable.

The property is clean, in a convenient spot, and is otherwise a good place to stay. But my experience with the front desk and management was extremely disappointing. I booked through Booking.com, then was told on arrival that my dates were wrong. The front desk said they couldn’t honor my rate and that, with no other rooms available, I’d need to book a premium suite for the night. They assured me the extra payment would resolve the reservation issue. When I asked for a receipt, I was given only ONE charge and trusted what they told me. In September I discovered two charges for the same stay, $779.17 and $750. When I contacted the hotel, management said correcting it was “not their responsibility” because of what their own front desk had communicated. They did nothing to fix the double charge. That’s unacceptable. Guests shouldn’t have to worry about being charged twice, or management refusing to correct an obvious mistake. The property is nice, but if there’s a billing issue, don’t expect accountability or a resolution.

Waking up to the panoramic view of Santiago and the Andes was unforgettable. The rooms are spacious, sleek, and thoughtfully laid out. If you want a well located, beautifully designed modern place in Santiago, Icon Hotel is a top choice. Highly recommend.

For the expensive nightly price, this was a mediocre stay, more like a three-star experience at a four-star cost. The building is nice, the rooftop bar has a beautiful view, and the food was decent. The room was okay, but the shower door wouldn’t close properly, so water leaked onto the floor. Colleagues also said they had trouble getting hot water. Several things that were meant to be included cost extra. Breakfast was supposed to come with the booking, but we were charged on arrival, and the restaurant wouldn’t put it on the room tab. Reception could only add breakfast for the whole stay, not selected days. The airport pickup also turned out to cost extra, like a regular cab ride. More than two coffee pods meant asking for a refill at an added charge, regardless of how long you stayed. The receptionist showed no interest in sorting these things out or offering compensation, just kept saying everything cost extra. At checkout, they asked how the stay was, but didn’t care or ask further when I said there was room for improvement. Expect to be nickle and dimed. Mediocre overall.
