Hotel Boutique Puramar

I like coming back to a place where the quality stays high. The food is fresh, flavorful, and wonderful, and the service is friendly and quick. It’s peaceful, with a menu that has several choices and excellent side dishes. A place I can visit again and again.

The only reasons I’m giving it two stars are the view and being able to hear the sea all day. Otherwise, it wasn’t a good stay, and I wouldn’t return. The rooms are small, heated by air conditioning, and constantly smell damp. The bathroom is tiny and uncomfortable, there’s no storage, the TV didn’t work even after we asked for it to be fixed, and Wi-Fi doesn’t reach every room. The receptionist wasn’t helpful and didn’t explain the amenity rules properly when we arrived. We asked in the morning to use the hot tub, which is open until 9 pm, but they refused because it needed 24 hours’ notice, despite taking only six hours to heat. There were just two guests at the hotel. Later, the manager offered us the option to use it on checkout day. Breakfast was poor: juice, small coffees, bread, cheese and ham with eggs, and cooked fruit. There were no pastries, which I’d expect at a hotel charging 180,000 pesos a night in the off-season. The restaurant was good but not excellent. Dinner for two, with two fish mains and sides plus two gin and tonics, cost 78,000 pesos. We didn’t have dessert or coffee.

We drove an hour to try the restaurant, but they wouldn’t let us in with our pet, even though it has an emotional support certificate. They have a terrace for situations like this, but said they had no staff and wouldn’t let us sit indoors either. The restaurant manager explained that the decision wasn’t hers, but the hotel manager was horrible, aggressive, and inattentive.

The interior is lovely, and the view is beautiful if you sit by the windows. The menu is extensive and the presentation is elaborate and attractive, but the food isn’t especially tasty and the portions feel small for the price.
