I spent two weeks at Comarca while working in Pichilemu, and it made a wonderful home base. I’d been unsure about the location and hostal before I arrived, but I loved it. Playa Hermosa, a grocery store, shops, and cafés are all an easy walk away. I didn’t have a car and rented a bike, which worked well. If I had a car, I’d especially appreciate being able to get around while staying comfortably tucked away from downtown Pichilemu. The hostal has a great kitchen, cozy rooms, comfortable beds, and a hot tub. Ismael was the best part of the stay. He was caring and checked in often to see how things were going. He let me use the laundry, helped arrange a bike rental for my stay, and lent me his surf gear while explaining the conditions and which days would be best to surf. Sometimes he’d bring something from his garden or make a smoothie to share. I can’t recommend the place enough, and I’ll return to Comarca if I’m back in Pichilemu. Thanks for everything, Ismael!

I only stayed one night while traveling by motorbike, so that’s all I can speak to. The place was really nice and well-equipped, and I’d definitely come back.

The place is lovely and well located, and Maria was a very kind host. I hope I can return!

The listing should make clear if this is a hostel or a lodge. The rooms are very small, and the shared areas weren’t well maintained or clean.

It’s a hostel, actually, not a lodge. There isn’t enough parking for all the rooms, and for what they charge, I don’t think it’s worth it unless the price were lower. The area is a bit dark and the power went out often. There are shops nearby for groceries or coffee, and the beach is close, but there are loose dogs around and I didn’t feel safe walking at night. Everything was clean overall. Our private bathroom was clean too, though it was outside the room. The pillowcase was a little dirty. Our room was small, just enough for the bed and closed suitcases on the floor. The sheer curtain let in all the light, so it was annoying to be woken very early. Towels were included, which we appreciated. We rented the hot tubs for the evening, but the schedule changed because of the power cuts. When we finally got in, the water was only lukewarm. I asked the girl in charge and she apologized, saying it was due to the outages, but didn’t offer a solution. The hot tub area was very dark, with only a motion-activated emergency light. The service wasn’t the best. The girl who checked us in sorted out our issues, but wasn’t very helpful. Also, the key on our ring didn’t work. I had to ask her to replace it so we could get in late at night, and she wouldn’t have replaced it otherwise. In my opinion, the service felt pretty unenthusiastic.
