Hotel Geronimo

The owners kindly waited a day while I got cash from a local ATM, so thank you. If you plan to pay by card, bring a credit card rather than a debit card. The atmosphere was romantic, the staff were great, and breakfast was very good. The owner’s dog was definitely a plus 😉 The rooms may feel a little small to some, but we had a great experience.

We regretted not staying here for our whole trip. The shared areas had a lovely rustic, homey feel, and the laundry was done well at a fair price. Some of the best service in Pucon. They let us check in early and even served breakfast early because they knew we were leaving to hike Villaraca.

Servicio Mal !!!!! Awful service!!!! If zero stars were possible, I’d give them that. We asked for a quiet room, but there was a lot of street noise. The furniture and room design also felt cheap and not at all like a hotel. Mostly, though, the service was terrible. The hotel manager, Hefa Johana Viollargan, treated us with a level of rudeness and disrespect I’ve never encountered from hotel staff. We sent some clothes to the hotel laundry and specifically asked that they be kept separate and never put in the dryer. Some of the items were new and expensive. We were assured they’d be washed gently in cold water, but that’s not what happened. The next morning, everything had been mixed together, and many items had obviously shrunk and were no longer usable. My new 200 USD Arcteryx jacket, which I’d worn just once, had completely shrunk. When we asked for compensation, the manager suggested sending the clothes back to the laundry so she could try to stretch them out. We refused and asked to be compensated. She wouldn’t do that, yelled at us, and told us to leave immediately, even though we still had one hour before checkout.

The room was a nice size, with a large bed and a window looking out at the Volcano. The location was nice too. Since it’s a wooden building, you can hear people moving around upstairs.
