Courtyard by Marriott Puerto Montt

The room was good, though the windows could use cleaning and the wood could be replaced. Check-in was quick and smooth, and parking was tight but fine. One of the two elevators was out most of the time during the day. Service was terrible. Breakfast was self-service, with coffee, juice, mixed nuts, meat, and cheese. Go early, around 7:30-9, because they didn't replenish things after about 10. On our first night, there were no more than five tables occupied at 9:30 pm, but it took ten minutes for anyone to greet us. Then we were asked if we were ready to order. We said no and asked for drinks. Another ten minutes went by. An older couple, dressed a little nicer, arrived in that time, and the server forgot about us, visiting their table nine times while not coming back to ours at all. Our grilled cheese and tomato soup were great, as was the house salad, but the beef was cold. We finished the whole meal before the server returned. Even the older couple noticed and said something to us. We skipped dinner here on the second night. On the third night the restaurant was busy, and we tried to be patient. Nobody came for five minutes. A man who sat down after us got service, a drink, and bread. Ten minutes later a dad and son arrived and got service and bread before anyone spoke to us. After 15 minutes, three people sat beside us and were served right away, with drinks before we got any attention. By 20 minutes, other staff had been clearing and resetting tables while we waited. A young woman finally greeted us, but knew nothing about the menu or drinks. We ordered drinks, appetizers, and entrees all at once in case we had to wait another 20 minutes. When the bread arrived, one of us got the usual glass dish with herb butter, while I got the same butter they serve at breakfast in a little plastic container. Everything came at once, soup, salad, and entree, and we waited 4-5 minutes for a soup spoon. I was extremely displeased. Our server checked on two or three other tables but never us. My oil and lemon for the salad never came, our drinks were empty, and she walked past to check whether a table was clean without asking how things were. She wasn't attentive.
