El Muelle Hotel Boutique

We stayed twice for one night each, and both rooms and bathrooms were a good size. The view toward the water is pleasant, and the hotel is in a handy spot on the main street near the water. It’s a little place, less than 3 years old, with nice decor and, I think, 8 rooms, 2 downstairs and 6 upstairs. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and they let us leave our luggage while we walked the W Trek. Breakfast had good food and a nice selection. There’s off-street parking out front for 2 or 3 cars, and two computers for guests. You can walk the 2 KMs to the bus station, or take a taxi for 2000CLP. The soundproofing could be better, though with so few rooms it wasn’t a big problem for us. We were very happy here and would come back.

We came in late each day, so the soundproofing being a bit weak didn’t bother us. The continental breakfast was good, and the staff were amazing, helpful, and knowledgeable. Great hotel.

The breakfast was very basic, and if you came late it could be gone or cold. I came away thinking the owners didn’t care because travelers keep staying there on their way to Torres del Paine. You can see dirt everywhere, yet the cleaning staff were rarely working when I saw them, mostly sitting and chatting in the kitchen. It seemed the place hadn’t been properly looked after or maintained for months or years. With my four-month-old baby, I had to be moved between two different rooms, and lots of things were missing or broken: light bulbs, furniture, and a patched-up shower. I was also surprised by how many people arrived only to be told their booking was missing. Just a simple, dirty shack. Don’t be fooled by its name and end up like me. Do yourself a favor and avoid it, maybe then they’ll get the message. I’ve included some photos as examples, though I’m missing the one with all the dirt and dead flies on the windows.

A cute little boutique hotel with a beautiful nautical look and a great price. They were very helpful with all our questions, including suggestions for restaurants.
